MP3s have become almost as popular as sex on the Internet. Being so popular, it has become almost impossible to find a good site for mp3 information, downloads, and software. (Believe me I know.) Sites are full of advertising and tricks to get you to vote for them in some BS "top site" award. My task is simple, list the best mp3 sites I can find. My requirement is that the site have something to download or some kind of useful information. Of course, my list is going to be biased. You'll probably find a good deal of the stuff I like... Metallica, Doors, Led Zeppelin, Blue Oyster Cult, Ozzy Osbourne, The Cult, Black Sabbath, The Cure, David Bowie, etc. I will update this page as I find good sites. I'm also going to list everything in categories so you'll be able to find what you need. You'll also see some advertising. Hopefully, I've done the advertising well enough that it doesn't interfere with your search for information. You won't find a lot of slow loading graphics either, just the sites. MP360 - 360: MP3 sites - The top Mp3 sites on the Web. Audio Find - Holy! This is worth checking out. Really damn nice MP3 search engine. Nothing on this site but MP3s and a banner ad. Slick. Fast. Nice Selection. What more could you ask for? Professional software development company is your best choice!Scour - A really cool site. This is my favorite mp3 download place. A quick searchable database with plenty of other mp3 information. I found some really rare gems here. You really have to know what you are searching for to make their search effective. One other thing is that you have to have patience with the downloads -- a lot of the sites found aren't always up. Live from the Vault - A new mpg3 every week. I like this site because it showcases unreleased material. Unreleased material is gold for fans. The Underzone's MP3 Section - Good looking site with a very nice selection of mp3 downloads. Get your Metallica, Led Zeppelin and others here. The Punk Mp3 Archive - Got punk? This site does. A good punk site is hard to find. AudioDreams - Looks like this site has a fair amount of good mp3s with news and links. Laid out nicely. A bit hard to find what you are looking for. Pretty good for the mp3 surfer. Requested Rare Downloads - Not a lot here, but some really goods ones. Black Sabbath, Queen, NIN, and a few others. Worth a listen. Metallica Mp3s - This was a great find. Get some rare Metallica mp3s. Most everything here is live or alternate versions -- probably came from bootlegs. The server is busy often. Damage Inc. - This site features MP3s from every Metallica studio album. The site uses free web servers, so you may have to check back often for best download speeds. Groovewarez - Ok.Ok. One of those damn sites that sends a billion pop ups... It does have a nice selection of mp3s if you can figure the site out. Good luck. MP3 World - Nice Archive. Chances are that you will find something cool here. Get the chart toppers from the UK and the US. Fast site. No pop-ups! WooHooo! Big Ernie MP3 Sites - Big Ernie has a pretty cool site. Some nice mp3s. The best stuff is found in the all time favorites. Beware a pop-up or two. Cool Bear - Cool Bear has an interesting approach. This site has a few more things other than MP3s. Most notable is the classic Disco MP3s. Some top-40 stuff. Beware a few pop-ups. Soul Space - Trip on this. I thought this was pretty cool. Tools: Mp3 Encoders - This page has a nice collection of mp3 encoders. There are plenty of encoders to choose from. My recommendation is try a few of them. Mp3 Rippers - It's not that big of a challenge to rip your CDs. Try these. AudioCatalyst - Interesting page. Check here first for your ripper and encoder. You'll be glad you did. My MP3s: Imaginos - Samples from the now deleted Blue Oyster Cult album Imaginos. Players: WinAmp Skin - You should have found a ton of skins at the WinAmp site, here's a few more.
