Innovative Web-based Course Teaches Heart Rhythm Meditation
New technology serves ancient method
Ipswich, MA July 12th, 2003 Can
the latest Internet technology aid the teaching of meditation?
Meditation is one of the few topics that is still taught now the
way it was taught thousands of years ago. The content has changed
very little, and the methodology of personal instruction from an
expert teacher is still vital to learning the skill of meditation
which so dramatically affects ones attitude and health. Like
swimming, meditation is not learned from a book. It is therefore
surprising that an authentic meditation school has put the latest
Internet technology to use for world-wide access to courses that
were previously offered only in small groups.
The Institute for Applied Meditation (IAM) has developed a new
method of teaching meditation, over the Internet. Starting July
30th, their webcourse provides personal instruction in Heart
Rhythm Practice, an easy-to-learn, highly effective method of
meditation that has been shown to reduce stress and improve ones
concentration, health and relationships. Heart Rhythm Practice
creates harmonic synchronization of your heartbeat, breath and
brainwaves as a means of discovering the guidance and power of
your own heart.
The webcourse lasts 12 weeks, building expertise through 12 weekly
steps. Students write their experiences, problems, and
breakthroughs to the group each day. The instructor, Puran Bair,
author of "Living From the Heart" (Random House, 1998) and
co-founder of IAM, responds personally to each message, offering
support, inspiration, additional information, or congratulations,
as the case may be. IAM has shown over the past five years that
this method is very effective, as proven by direct, post-graduate
measurements of the heart rhythm of a sample of students.
The next webcourse offers a new feature: a weekly video, audio and
text Instant Messaging session for those with the proper computer
equipment. This one-hour session offers direct contact with the
instructor.
This is a great time to learn the method of Living from the Heart,
and now you can learn from the author directly.
IAM also offers face-to-face seminars in Heart Rhythm Meditation;
Course #103, Restoring Optimism, is scheduled for September 27-28
in Tucson, AZ. For those in the Massachusetts area, IAM offers
regular meditation courses in Ipswich, MA. IAM also offers a
variety of meditations on CD, recorded during seminars and
courses.
